Hello, I’m Mehedi Sun—please call me Mehedi (meh-HEH-dee). I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Computer Science at William & Mary, advised by Dr. Oscar Chaparro. My research explores how language models can better help developers understand software changes, maintain evolving systems, and improve software testing.

Code-Change Rationale
I study how to recover the “why” behind code changes from issues, commits, reviews, and other software artifacts, then generate concise rationale summary for developers.

Test Oracle Engineering
I investigate how practitioners engineer test oracle for GUI systems and how tools can help make functional tests more trustworthy and maintainable.

Solution Localization
I evaluated ML, deep learning, and LLM approaches to identify design decision for implementation solution.

Before starting my Ph.D., I worked as a Software Engineer at Kona Software Lab on NexusPay, a banking application serving 10 million registered users.
